COVID 19 – RESPONSE KAKUMA

LWF  INFORMATION AWARENESS

Following technical guidance from the Ministry of Health, WHO and other international organizations, community awareness is the first defense towards achieving adequate prevention measures. The community needs to be aware about the severity of the disease, its symptoms, preventive measures and how to seek medical attention in case a member of the family or community is infected.

LWF has partnered with Dan Church Aid (DCA) to support effective communications in order to ensure that appropriate messages are developed and shared with the various target groups in the community. The emergency project is to support development and dissemination of messages in the camp and host community.

The messages will target raising awareness on hand washing, social distancing and other preventive measures.

This is to be carried out through mass media (radio broadcast through local radio stations), social media and posters.

The posters will be placed in strategic points in the community, i.e. in Market places, shopping centers, schools water points, food distribution centers, reception center, transit centers and bus stations in Kakuma town.
